About the event

Overview

Shelby Trails Horse Park recently opened an equestrian cross country course.  The course provides three heights of jumps for three different skill levels of riders:  Starter, Beginner Novice, and Novice  (to use horse people terms.)

The course offers a fun schooling experience with a variety of natural jumps, creek crossings and obstacles.  The Beginner Novice and Novice levels have unique colorful obstacles such as caterpillars, carrots and covered bridges.  However, the “Starters” now only have 12 telephone poles to jump.    Our goal is to change that and have one of the most colorful “Starter” courses east of the Mississippi.

Meet the Jumps

Want to see the jumps?  We will host a “Meet the Jumps” tour and answer questions on Wednesday, June 19th at 6:30 at Shelby Trails, 5063 Aiken Rd, Simpsonville, KY 40067.  Of course you are also welcome to visit Shelby Trails on your own any day between dawn and dusk.    You will see the beginning of the cross country course to the left as you drive in.  Please park in the parking lot, be careful and watch for riders, and walk up to the cross country course.

About the Art

Your jump art should be distinctive and meet the following criteria:

  • In keeping with the theme:  Things That Represent Shelby County
