Kingdom Come Deliverance Brightness

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you,And His glory will be seen upon you.The Gentiles shall come to your light,And kings to the brightness of your rising.

kingdom come deliverance brightness

Lift up your eyes all around, and see:They all gather together, they come to you;Your sons shall come from afar,And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant,And your heart shall swell with joy;Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.The multitude of camels shall cover your land,The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; All those from Sheba shall come; They shall bring gold and incense,And they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord. All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you,The rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar,And I will glorify the house of My glory.Who are these who fly like a cloud,And like doves to their roosts?Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me;And the ships of Tarshish will come first,To bring your sons from afar,Their silver and their gold with them,To the name of the Lord your God,And to the Holy One of Israel,Because He has glorified you.The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls,And their kings shall minister to you;For in My wrath I struck you,But in My favor I have had mercy on you. Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall not be shut day or night,That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles,And their kings in procession. For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish,And those nations shall be utterly ruined. The glory of Lebanon shall come to you,The cypress, the pine, and the box tree together,To beautify the place of My sanctuary; And I will make the place of My feet glorious.

Chapter 3 The prophet beseeches God for his people. (1,2) He calls to mind former deliverances. (3-15) His firm trust in the Divine mercy. (16-19) Verses 1-2 The word prayer seems used here for an act of devotion. The Lord would revive his work among the people in the midst of the years of adversity. This may be applied to every season when the church, or believers, suffer under afflictions and trials. Mercy is what we must flee to for refuge, and rely upon as our only plea. We must not say, Remember our merit, but, Lord, remember thy own mercy. Verses 3-15 God's people, when in distress, and ready to despair, seek help by considering the days of old, and the years of ancient times, and by pleading them with God in prayer. The resemblance between the Babylonish and Egyptian captivities, naturally presents itself to the mind, as well as the possibility of a like deliverance through the power of Jehovah. God appeared in his glory. All the powers of nature are shaken, and the course of nature changed, but all is for the salvation of God's own people. Even what seems least likely, shall be made to work for their salvation. Hereby is given a type and figure of the redemption of the world by Jesus Christ. It is for salvation with thine anointed. Joshua who led the armies of Israel, was a figure of Him whose name he bare, even Jesus, our Joshua. In all the salvations wrought for them, God looked upon Christ the Anointed, and brought deliverances to pass by him. All the wonders done for Israel of old, were nothing to that which was done when the Son of God suffered on the cross for the sins of his people. How glorious his resurrection and ascension! And how much more glorious will be his second coming, to put an end to all that opposes him, and all that causes suffering to his people! Verses 16-19 When we see a day of trouble approach, it concerns us to prepare. A good hope through grace is founded in holy fear. The prophet looked back upon the experiences of the church in former ages, and observed what great things God had done for them, and so was not only recovered, but filled with holy joy. He resolved to delight and triumph in the Lord; for when all is gone, his God is not gone. Destroy the vines and the fig-trees, and you make all the mirth of a carnal heart to cease. But those who, when full, enjoyed God in all, when emptied and poor, can enjoy all in God. They can sit down upon the heap of the ruins of their creature-comforts, and even then praise the Lord, as the God of their salvation, the salvation of the soul, and rejoice in him as such, in their greatest distresses. Joy in the Lord is especially seasonable when we meet with losses and crosses in the world. Even when provisions are cut off, to make it appear that man lives not by bread alone, we may be supplied by the graces and comforts of God's Spirit. Then we shall be strong for spiritual warfare and work, and with enlargement of heart may run the way of his commandments, and outrun our troubles. And we shall be successful in spiritual undertakings. Thus the prophet, who began his prayer with fear and trembling, ends it with joy and triumph. And thus faith in Christ prepares for every event. The name of Jesus, when we can speak of Him as ours, is balm for every wound, a cordial for every care. It is as ointment poured forth, shedding fragrance through the whole soul. In the hope of a heavenly crown, let us sit loose to earthly possessions and comforts, and cheerfully bear up under crosses. Yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry; and where he is, we shall be also.

13. with thine anointed--with Messiah; of whom Moses, Joshua, and David, God's anointed leaders of Israel, were the types ( Psalms 89:19 Psalms 89:20 Psalms 89:38 ). God from the beginning delivered His people in person, or by the hand of a Mediator ( Isaiah 63:11 ). Thus Habakkuk confirms believers in the hope of their deliverance, as well because God is always the same, as also because the same anointed Mediator is ready now to fulfil God's will and interpose for Israel, as of old [CALVIN]. MAURER translates to suit the parallelism, "for salvation to Thine anointed," namely, Israel's king in the abstract, answering to the "people" in the former clause (compare Psalms 28:8 , Lamentations 4:20 ). Or Israel is meant, the anointed, that is, consecrated people of Jehovah ( Psalms 105:15 ). woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked--probably an allusion to Psalms 68:21 . Each head person sprung from and belonging to the house of Israel's wicked foes; such as Jabin, whose city Hazor was "the head of all the kingdoms" of Canaan ( Joshua 11:10 ; compare Judges 4:2 Judges 4:3 Judges 4:13 ). discovering the foundation--Thou destroyedst high and low. As "the head of the house" means the prince, so the "foundation" means the general host of the enemy. unto the neck--image from a flood reaching to the neck ( Isaiah 8:8 , 30:28 ). So God, by His wrath overflowing on the foe, caused their princes' necks to be trodden under foot by Israel's leaders ( Joshua 10:24 , Joshua 11:8 Joshua 11:12 ).

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

2 Let us bow our heads now for prayer. Now in his divine presence, if you have any request that you would like to be made known to Him, would you just raise up your hand. And that's your request that God will...Our heavenly Father, we are coming now up before thy throne by faith in the name of Jesus Christ, thy Son. And we have been given this assurance, that if we ask anything in his name it will be granted. And Thou knowest our desires and our needs, and Thou hast promised that You would supply all that we have need of.So, Father, we would pray as You taught us: "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven," that our request tonight might be according to your desire to give it.And grant to us these privileges. Anoint the Word, Lord, and all the speakers, and the hearers. And may the Holy Spirit come in and be the doer of the Word, tonight, among us, for we ask it in his name. Amen. You may be seated.

10 Here not long ago... I was going with the wife, when we still lived in Indiana a couple years ago, over to the little supermarket. I had just come home. We had to go get some food. And on my road over there, we... It was the summer time. You might not believe it, but we found a lady had a dress on. And it was so strange, it shocked me. I said, "Look at there! That looks strange. That woman's wearing a dress." The rest of them was wearing clothing didn't ... not becoming to the woman. And she said... I said, "Well, that's just the American spirit, see, the spirit of America."Now, the spirit of America... It's supposed to be a Christian nation, but the spirit of this nation is not Christian. It might be called a Christian nation, but it's a million miles from it in characteristic. So this woman... I said...She said, "Well, aren't we Americans?"Said, I said, "No. We live here. This is our country. We stay in it. We love it. It's the best nation in the world. But yet, we're not Americans." I said, "We are born from above. The Holy Spirit come down, and we belong to a kingdom that's not of this world." I said, "That's the reason that our sisters wear dresses, wear long hair, don't wear make-up." See, their characteristics identify them as holiness unto the Lord from above.
